Family Trip to Duluth

The Kvenild Family took a family trip to Duluth this past weekend. All 15 of us had a great time! Dad...and Mom...were in their glory having all of us around;especially the grandkids!! Here are some pictures to share with you!

Unbelievable!!!!

Andy, Kaare and I were successful at getting this picture of all the "Kvenild Cousins" on Monday night. This may never happen again..... Everyone was happy, cooperative and listened! Wow....for being so young , we think we got a pretty good picture.

Family Weekend

We had several family events over the past weekend....baby shower for Quin, Baptism for Quin and a sibling dinner. We enjoyed lots of time together...laughing, talking, having fun and just being together. Here are a few highlights of the kids playing together.

Highlights from our trip to Grand Marais

Kathryn was pretty much the happiest when she was down by Lake Superior feeding the sea gulls and ducks. She loved it! Otherwise, it was a struggle to keep Kathryn's attention on other sight seeing adventures. We managed to take a trip to Canada(yes, Kathryn's first trip out of the U.S.) We saw Kakebeka Falls there. Tom and I were able to enjoy some time reading! and relaxing...when Kathryn decided to take a nap or go to bed at night. We were thinking about taking a trip to the Black Hills next summer...however, we might wait a year or two.

On the way to Grand Marais.....

Tom, Kathyrn and I took a mini vacation to Grand Marais this week. This was the happiest that Kathryn was on the drive up to Grand Marais...when she was eating whip cream from Starbucks. Otherwise, she was up the entire 6 hour drive and cried about 2/3 of the time. She was not happy. Maybe we should have let her eat whip cream the whole way up?

YEAH! They are home!

We have been looking forward to this day for a long time! Kathryn's aunt and uncle( Godparents too!) and cousins are home for a long visit. Kathryn and Noelle are bonding rather quickly. Aunt Kris brought Kathryn a scholar cap from Taiwan. She wore the hat most of the night. Noelle and I played a round of "golf".

Family Time

It has been a long week for Tom. He has been working hard to finish up the remodeling job in the bathroom. Kathryn invited her dad to go swimming with us today. (She thought he could use a break) We had a great time swimming together.

Spending the week at Grandma and Grandpa's

"We have been staying at Grandma and Grandpa's house this week while my dad (with the help from our friend Allen...THANKS Allen!) has been redoing our bathroom. It has been quite the project for dad, but, I have had lots of fun! It is kind of like a mini vacation. I have played house with Grandma, spent time with my cousin Quin, and had a play date with my friend Katherine. I think we get to go home tonight if my dad can get the water going in the bathroom."

Swimming

We found this great little water park right by our house..and it is FREE! Kathryn absolutely loves it. She is a very daring little girl and is not afraid to go under the waterfalls or sprinklers. She was swimming so long the other day that she was turning blue around the lips. I had to carry her out of the pool...and she was not happy. She had fun swimming with mom and grandma.

Kathyrn enjoyed looking at the flowers with Tom tonight. We took a little trip to Minnehaha Falls flower garden.

A visit to Uncle Kyle's work

"Uncle Kyle...nice uniform. I didn't recognize you at first. It was nice to visit you at your work today. What a great place! Thanks for protecting me...although, you were not at the playground to protect me...I went tumbling down the slide and mommy had to come to my rescue."



Kathyrn and I went to French Park today to see where Kyle works. We had a great time. Kathryn loved testing out the bike!
