Weekend Trip to the Cabin

We took a trip to the family cabin this weekend...with Kaare, Michelle, Quin, Kyle and Ellen.... it was a fun-filled weekend! We enjoyed a trip to the park, the Kanabec County Fair and the pool....not to mention the cabin doings such as bonfires, fishing, eating and talking. Kathryn caught her first fish with Uncle Kyle and rode her first pony at the county fair. Kathryn had a great weekend!

Fishing with Uncle Kyle!

Kathryn enjoyed some fishing time with Uncle Kyle today. Uncle Kyle is so patient..and taught Kathryn all the tricks and traits of fishing. Sadly, the only thing that was caught were some weeds....but Kathryn had a great time and can't wait to go again with Uncle Kyle. The only thing she did not like about fishing was baiting her hook...it was "ishy".

You probably can't see it, but Kathryn's rod has Dora on it. Did you ever think you would see Kyle with a Dora fishing rod?!?!?!?

Enjoying a day at the pool

Kathryn and Quin went swimming on Monday! The weather was absolutely beautiful! and the cousins had a great time!

Trip to Duluth

Kathryn and I went to Duluth with our friends Paula, Sophie and Grace. We had a great time walking around Canal Park. Kathryn loved throwing rocks in the water, climbing on rocks and my favorite, sitting right down in the water;clothes and all.

Trying to Burn Down the House?!!?

We brought Papa Murphy's pizza over to mom and dad's tonight.... and tried to burn down their house. Well, not intentionally...but the cardboard tray decided to catch fire.... the pizza was black. We saved the house....but let me tell you, the house was full of smoke! Now, Tom and dad went back to Papa Murphy's and got another pizza, so the pizza you see with Amy and Tom is the new one that was edible!

A spontaneous trip to Como Zoo

Kathryn and I had a pretty bad experience at Gymnastics class on Thursday...and afterwards decided we needed to do something fun...so we headed over to Como Park. We walked around Como Lake and then wandered over to the zoo. Kathryn was thrilled with the giraffes;especially the baby one.

Kathryn's new friend.....

Our friends came over tonight for dinner...and Kathryn was a little mother to their daughter Sydney....bringing her toys, food, washing her hands, etc... Kathryn and Sydney soon became buds and enjoyed playing together. Here Kathryn is pushing Sydney around in the doll stroller.

A visit to the train museum

Kathryn has taken to looking for trains whenever we are out and about...her favorite is the light rail. Today, I took her to the train museum in St. Paul and she absolutely loved it. We took about 10 trips around the museum looking at all the trains. (and she would have taken 10 more trips....) I have a feeling this will be a spot that we will frequent quite often....

Just Like Grandpa

For those of you who know my dad, after he has finished a great meal... he rubs his tummy and says, "oh baby". Kathryn has taken after him lately...and this is her impression of Grandpa.

My Little Helper

I am trying to finish up some landscaping in the back yard...so today, Kathryn and I took a trip to Home Depot, Minnhehaha Nursery (2 times) and worked on finishing the backyard. Kathryn wanted to push the cart at Home Depot today! She helped me to lay down dirt and new sod once we got home. After that she watered the sod and ME! I got a nice shower.

Pizza Picnic

Kathryn and I have been enjoying a girls weekend while Tom is in the Boundary Waters. We had a pizza picnic last night. Kathryn made me pizza! and we hung out watching Strawberry Shortcake.

Just for Grandpa....

On my last night in Taiwan, we were having dinner and we turn around, and there is Isaak, hanging a spoon from his nose. This is a family tradition that is usually done at Christmas time....Nice Job Isaak!!!

My Favorite Scenic Picture of Taiwan

This is my absolute favorite picture of Taiwan's scenery...mountains and the ocean. Two of my favorites to see! This was taken on our way to Haulien.

The Vegas Strip of Taiwan!

We went to Haulien for a few days to see the ocean and Taroku Gorge. Haulien is a very touristy town and I referred to it as the Vegas Strip because at night it is very busy, very bright and very crowded. The only thing is, I don't believe they have any casinos there. It was a lot of fun to wander and see what was there, but also very crowded. Beware of motor bikes when walking. They come from out of now where.
