First Day in Taiwan

A few pictures from my first day visiting Kris and family.... coffee time at Starbucks...and then a trip to the night market ...Uncle Mike and Aunt Dodi came along...we enjoyed some food and shopping. Isaak played Ski Ball.... and did fairly well.

Taking Care of Grandpa

"Grandpa had surgery today on his hand...and I had to go over and take care of him this afternoon. He needed a band aid on and I came to his rescue. The doctor took care of his hand so it won't hurt anymore. I am so glad that Grandpa is going to be ok. "

Spending Time with Quin and Aunt Michelle

"Quin and I got to spend some time together today at the MN Zoo. Aunt Michelle came along too.... we saw the giraffes, went to the farm on the tractor, and Quin fed the goats. He really liked that. To cool off, because it was about 90 + degrees...we went through the little water park that the zoo has. What a fun day!"

Like Mother, Like Daughter

As soon as the rain started yesterday, my umbrella came out...and so did Kathryn's(well, she took Tom's...poor Tom, he did not have one). We do not like to get wet....especially our hair!

Father's Day Part 2

We spent some time together just the three of us.... First, Kathryn made Tom a gift and he had to show off his new pop can holder...and then after dinner with my family, we headed over to the Rose Gardens at Lake Harriet. Despite the rain, we enjoyed walking and "smelling the roses".

Father's Day 2009...part 1

We were at my mom and dad's for Father's Day dinner.... we had a nice afternoon together.

"Hello, may I help you?"

We helped to move Uncle Sverre out of his condo on Saturday. Quin and Kathryn were so good while we packed and loaded the trucks. They enjoyed taking "phone calls" while we were moving. We are not really sure who they were talking too...but they seemed very important!!!

Summer Swimming

We have only been out of school for 1 week and have already enjoyed several days of swimming at the local pool. Kathryn LOVES it! And, would stay all day despite turning blue because she is so cold. I have a feeling we will be swimming a lot this summer!

Washing Dishes

I was mowing the lawn today and Kathryn was standing in the doorway, looking outside and watching me ( she is terrified of the lawn mower as well as the vacuum). All of a sudden, I see that she is no longer there, so I go to investigate. I open the door and I see her standing on a chair by the kitchen sink. "Kathryn , what are you doing?", I ask. "Mommy, I am washing the dishes." What do I do? I want to tell her no, but she is only helping, and she saw the need to wash the dishes on her own. It was pretty cute.

Kathryn's 1st Vacation Bible School

Kathryn went to vacation bible school this week...and had a really good time. She keeps talking about Jesus and how he loves us and how he died for us. There was a little program at the end today..... Kathryn sang a little and danced a little, but was more interested in everyone else singing!

Coffee Plunge!

Tom did it.... he FINALLY had his first cup of regular coffee tonight! I could not believe it.... and was so glad I had the camera with me. We were at Grandma Gladys' for dinner when he decided to try a cup. "Not Bad", he told me after he finished the cup. Do I have a future coffee drinker in the works?!

Summer Haircut

Kathryn got her summer haircut yesterday...what a big girl...she loved it! And, sat so good. She looks like a little girl now...no more baby, no more toddler.....

A trip to Uncle Kyle's Park....but NO Uncle Kyle

We went to French Park on Friday...which is the park where Uncle Kyle works. Kathryn refers to it as "Uncle Kyle's Park". But, there was no Uncle Kyle to be found. It was his day off from work (which we knew......) Despite no Uncle Kyle, Kathyrn had a good time and wants to go back soon. So, Uncle Kyle....get ready for a visit soon.

Celebrating Summer

We took a trip to the MN Zoo today to celebrate the first day of summer break! Kathryn loved the giraffes. I could not believe how close we were to them. It was so cool! Kathryn also enjoyed feeding the goats.

Bye Bye B's.....

Today was the day.... Kathryn threw her B's (pacifiers) in the trash....forever. In return Kathryn got a little gift for being such a big girl...."Strawberry Shortcake" movies. Our first day without the "B's was fine until bed time. However, after reading a Strawberry Shortcake book, Kathryn was fine and feel asleep within 2 minutes.

Hello Summer!

Tom and I finished up another school year on Wednesday...and decided to celebrate with Kathryn.... Cheers!

Swimming....FINALLY

Kathryn thought this weekend would never come! She has been waiting to go swimming for months now.... and finally it was here! We were in Fergus for Katie's graduation and stayed at a hotel with a pool. Kathryn loved swimming...So did cousin Quin! Now, we need to wait patiently for the pool to open by our house!
