The Girls

We were with our friends today....one last hurrah before the 4 of us head back to work on Monday....we all teach in St. Paul. The girls played dress up.... at one point they all came into the room and gave a little fashion show. This is what we saw! It was so cute!

MN State Fair

So, we debated on whether or not to go to the fair this year...but when we found out that Kathryn's FAVORITE horses were going to be there, we had to go. (Prince and Duke from the MN ZOO!!!!) We met up with Kyle and Ellen and hung out with them for a couple of hours. It was Kathryn's lucky day...not only did she see Prince and Duke, she tested out some new trucks with Uncle Kyle, won some fabulous prizes in the Ford Car and Truck games, and got to eat a corn dog. What more could you ask for at the fair?!?!?!

Recovering the dining room chairs....FINALLY!

My dining room chairs looked terrible...the seats were so torn and worn...that it was embarrassing! My mom and grandma came over today and helped me to re-cover the chairs. They look 100% better...Thanks mom and grandma! (Notice the before and after picture)

My dad came over to the house today, on his way home from being up north. He left to go home and forgot to say good bye to Kathryn. Kathryn came looking for him a short time after he left...and when I told her he went home, her lip went out, started to quiver and then then the tears came. We called Grandpa and he turned the car around and came back to say good-bye. Kathryn went running to the door, jumped up to Grandpa and gave him a big love and kiss. It was so cute, I was almost in tears......

Family Time.....

The other day, we went to Hyland Lake Park's nature center to see some Turkeys....so cool! After wards, we went for a walk and took some family pics. Believe it or not, Kathryn took the picture of Tom and I. I think it turned out pretty good?!?!?! Maybe we have a future photographer!??!?!?

We went to the zoo with my mom, dad and cousin Amy today. We had a GREAT day together. The highlight for Kathryn...and I think Amy too...was feeding the giraffes. It was so cool! To get right up there by them and feed them. We enjoyed walking, seeing all the animals, feeding the giraffe and the goats, and riding a horse drawn carriage to the zoo's farm. Of course, Kathryn was thrilled when the horse had to stop and go poop.

Trip to the Cabin

Tom, Kathryn, Klemintine and I went to the cabin for a week. We did some relaxing, went hiking at Lake Milacs (well, Tom and Klem did), took a day trip to Duluth, and did LOTS of swimming. We also spent a couple of evenings with Aunt Bonnie while up there. (Thanks for dinner and the pop Bonnie!) It was a very nice week and some quality family time together. Tom and I were even able to read some books and I finally finished Kathryn's scrapbook from her 1st year.

The Girls....

Saturday we spent the day with our friends Allen and Holly and their girls...Katherine and Madeleine. We had a picnic, went swimming and then went and saw Minnehaha Falls. The girls had a great time....laughing and playing together.

Kathryn enjoyed a day with her friend Sydney last Thursday. Our families went to the zoo and then out for dinner..... the girls had a great time together.

Kim and Tom's Orlando Vacation

Tom and I flew down to Orlando for a little vacation. We had a great time! We decided not to do the Disney thing...partly because Kathryn was not with us and partly because, WOW, is it expensive. After researching....we found that there are so many other things to do in the Orlando area....we took a drive to see the tallest cypress tree in Florida, went on a boat ride to see the chain of lakes near Orlando, swam in the Gulf of Mexico, and of course, did lots of shopping and eating.

Orlando....part 1

Tom and I headed to Orlando for a few days. Right now we are in the middle of our 4 day stay...and having a great time! We are enjoying swimming by the pool, sight seeing and eating seafood! Tomorrow we are headed to the ocean!

A night on the town....

Friday night, Tom, Kathryn, and I headed out for a night on the town...well, as much of a night on the town as we could with a 2 1/2 year old... a trip to the park, dinner, ice cream and a trip around Lake Calhoun. We had a great evening together!
